On Feb. 10, at Bai Chay Tourism Port, leaders of Quang Ninh provincial department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has welcomed the first tourists including 12 Koreans and French to come to visit Ha Long bay on the first day of the Lunar New Year of Snake.
A traditional art program was held by Quang Ninh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in collaboration with Quang Ninh Provincial Trouple Group in order to welcome the visitors to the Bay.
According to Mr. Nguyen Hoai Nam-the Head of the port, there were aroung 3,000 tourits arriving to Ha Long bay on the first day of the Lunar New Year.
As planned, the number of visitors who come to visit the world's natural wonder Ha Long Bay will reach 6,000 or 7,000 from the 3rd to the 6th day of the Lunar New Year.
Also on the same day, a Chinese Cruise ship named MV Henna docked in Ha Long, bringing over 1000 crews and tourists who are mainly from China to visit to the landscape. They were warmly welcomed by the Saigontourist Travel Service Company.
After docking at Hon Gai port, tourists on the ship had a chance to visit Ha Long bay, Long Tien pagoda and enjoy a traditional art show, especially the features of Vietnamese Tet holiday, which impressed them much.
Early on Feb. 9, two international cruise ships Costa Victoria anh Superstar Gemini had arrived in Ha Long bay, bringing thousands of tourists from diffirent countries to visit the bay. It is said to be a good sign for Quang Ninh tourism sector.
When the province continuously received many foreign tourists and cruiseships on these first days of the Lunar New Year of 2013.
