The inland waterway wharf at Ha Long International Cruise Port started operation at the end of Apr 2019, offering tourists a new, convenient, safe and high-class gateway to Ha Long Bay. The wharf has become bustle and hustle more than ever post pandemic.
With internationally-standardized facilities and outstanding quality of service, the wharf has attracted a large number of visitors and been chosen as a starting point of a trip to the world heritage site since its official operation. By the end of 2019, the wharf received 20,087 ship arrivals, bringing more than 470,000 tourist arrivals to Ha Long Bay, which is considered a significant success of a new comer.
The first reason why tourists choose Ha Long International Cruise Port is its location. It is at the center of Bai Chay Area, which is easy for tourists to visit Ha Long Bay or go to entertainment areas in the city after the visit.
The 3-storey terminal, covering an area of 4,500m2, is designed by the world well-known architect Bill Bensley. It leaves deeps impression on tourists at their first sight. The interior is so luxurious and mysterious that tourists may think they are lost in a basement of a 13th-century ship.
This is also one of the most-chosen place for weeding shootings of young couples and favorite check-ins. In early 2020, Ha Long International Cruise Port had to postpone its operation due to Covid-19. However, they took the postponed period to improve their staffs’ competence and skills for better service when reopening.
The day of reopening finally came. On the month marking one year of operation, all services at Ha Long International Cruise Port were resumed, meeting tourists’ satisfaction.
Also to mark the day and in response to Quang Ninh’s tourism demand promotion campaign, Ha Long International Cruise Port offers free-of-charge tickets and services to Ha Long Bay. Tourists enjoy this preferential policy till the end of May and some anniversary dates during the rest months of the year.
