Quang Ninh received good news in tourism sector on the first days of the new year 2019. The number of tourist arrivals to Quang Ninh, especially to Ha Long and Mong Cai cities sharply increased with an estimated total number of more than 200,000 arrivals, a rise of around 30% over the same period last year.
Notably, the number of international arrivals to Quang Ninh has steadily increased in comparision with same period in the previous years. According to the statistics from Quang Ninh Tourism Deparment, the amount of international arrivals is 135,000, up 25% over the same period of 2018. They are mainly from China, RoK, Japan…
The number of overnight visitors in Quang Ninh has also seen a sharp rise. 100% of luxurious hotels were fully booked. Tourist arrivals to Halong Bay was estimated at nearly 55,000, up 15% against the same period last year.
The positive achievements resulted from the efforts of Quang Ninh’s functional authorities in intensifying improving the tourism bussiness climate. In additions, tourism infrastructure was much upgraded with a great number of new hotels, trading centers; tourism attractions; and entertaiment spots. Particularly, the operation of the three key transport projects namely: Van Don International Airport; Ha Long International Cruise Port and Ha Long – Van Don expressway helps to not only make Quang Ninh more accessible to the tourists from other parts of Vietnam but also become an important driver to foster the development of Quang Ninh tourism.
The success of tourism sector in 2018 and good results gained only on the first days of the new year give Quang Ninh a strong belief that breakthrough development in tourism sector would happen in 2019.
