On March, 28, an oncology centre at the Viet Nam – Sweden Hospital in Uong Bi District started operating after 2.5 years of construction. The ignauguration ceremony was attended by Health Minister Nguyen Thi Kim Tien and Chairman of QNPPC Nguyen Van Doc.
The eight-storey centre, worth VND336 billion (US$156 million), has 200 sickbeds. It is expected to help deal with increasing demand for cancer treatment in the province.
Speaking at the ceremony, Tien greatly appreciated efforts made by the Hospital
On this occasion, VND 187 mln was raised for poor cancer patients.
