On Nov 8th, final seminar on project for green growth promotion in Ha Long Bay area, 2nd phase, co-organized by Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee and Japan International Cooperation Agency JICA took place in Ha Long City. Quang Ninh’s Standing Vice-chairman, Dang Huy Hau, presided over the seminar.
The project for green growth promotion in Ha Long Bay area, Quang Ninh province, sponsored by JICA has been carried out since 2016. To date, the project has gained significant results. For instance, building a cultural and historical expedition tour to Quan Lan island, Van Don District and an experience tour “one day as a fisherman” on the island; installing eco-toilets on tourist boats; granting “Blue Sail” certificates and logos to tourist boats operating on the Ha Long Bay; providing solutions to energy-saving; publishing white book on green growth of Ha Long Bay in the period of 2017-2018…
Speaking at the seminar, Quang Ninh’s Standing Vice-chairman highlighted the point of view on green growth targets that the province had been going along with to achieve rapid but sustainable development. He said owing to those achievements, similar activities would be expanded province-wide. He hoped JICA would support Quang Ninh even when the project ended.
Within the scope of the seminar, groups and individuals were awarded certificates of honor for their great contribution during the process of implementing the project.
