On March 27, in Halong city, Chairman of Quangninh's People's Council Nguyen Duc Long had a coutersy with Mr. Chandima Weerakkody, Vice Chairman of Sri Lankan Parliament, on the occasion of his working visit in Vietnam to join the 132nd Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) Assembly.
Receiving the delegation, Vice Chairman of Quangninh's People's Council Nguyen Duc Long made a brief introduction of Quangninh's oustanding potential. At the meeting, Long treasured the traditional cooperation tie between Vietnam and Sri Lanka. He hoped that after this visit, Vice Chairman of Sri Lankan Parliament Chandima Weerakkody would be a hub to introduce Sri Lankan businesses to invest in Quangninh. Also, Long wish Mr. Chandima Weerakkody and his entourage to get high results at the 132nd IPU held in Vietnam.
For his part, Chandima Weerakkody higly appreciated Quangninh's advantages on developing the economy and society, especially in tourism and mineral resources explotation industry. He strongly affirmed that he will do all the best to boost the ralationship of both sides as well as to introduce Quangninh's image to his country.
