Located on the edge of Bai Tu Long Bay in Cua Ong Ward, Cam Pha City, Cua Ong Temple worships Tran Quoc Tang, an outstanding general of the Tran dynasty and the third son of Tran Quoc Tuan who is the national hero general defending the nation against northern invaders.
The temple was built with different materials such as cast stone, Bat Trang bricks, mortar-mixed mortar, baked clay bricks, terracotta roof tiles, etc. The inside part of the temple is made of durable, and beautiful woods such as nail-woods, ironwood, mahogany ... The frame is depicted by bas-reliefs, paintings, couplets ... and red lacquer trimmed with gold.
The temple overlooks Bai Tu Long bay, a "forest" of various islands and islets with amazing shapes and colors on the blue background of the sea.
The temple consists of three main areas including the Lower Temple that worships the Mother, Middle Temple and Upper Temple. There are 34 intricately carved statues in the temple.
Every year, visitors from all over the country come to Cua Ong Temple. They show their respect to the Tran Gods. They not only admire talents and brave of the heroes, but also express their willingness to work well to deserve their former fathers.
