On June 21, in Ha Long city, the Quang Ninh Tourism Department held a conference to evaluate the coordination between the department and other localities provincewide in the management and development of tourism.
According to the report of the Tourism Department of Quang Ninh, in the first 6 months of the year, Quang Ninh greeted over 8.5 million tourist arrivals, reaching 61% of the plan, up 14% over the same period. Total tourism revenue was estimated at nearly VND16,000 billion, achieving 59% of the plan, up 25% over the same period. Also in the first 6 months of 2019, the Department of Tourism and localities have undertaken many robust measures contributing to improving the tourism services’ quality and efficiency.
Regarding the management of travel agencies, the Quang Ninh Tourism Department in close coordination of authorities, have drastically taken actions to improve the tourism business environment by enhancing inspection, propaganda activities and strictly handling violations and illegal cases in tourism business operation.
The conference also set tasks for 6 remaining months, focusing on continuing to improve the quality and efficiency of services; strictly conducting the province's legal documents on tourism management especially in terms of managing business activities with Chinese tourists; strictly handling violations in tourism; and intensifying coordination of functional departments in inspecting tourism business environment; surveying tourism resources; and training human resource.
