Friendly design, high quality service, memorable experience,… are the words commented by almost of passengers when travelling to Van Don International Airport Terminal. In order to affirm its trade mark, ensuring passengers’ safety and security, especially during year-end period, the terminal has carried a number of measures.
After one year operation, Van Don International Airport Terminal has operated many domestic and international flights, including 2-way Van Don – Ho Chi Minh City route exploited by Vietnam’s 3 largest airlines (Vietnam Airlines, Vietjet Air, and Bamboo Airways). There are 2 flights on weekdays and 3 flights on weekends. To date, there have been 2,000 flights to and from, transporting 260,000 passenger arrivals and 1,300 tons of cargo.
The modern facilities at the airport go in line with international standards and have been undergone regular maintenance. 100% of staff members working at the terminal are trained by VIAGS - Vietnam Airport Ground Services Company Limited and practice at Vietnam’s large airports, namely Noi Bai Airport and Cam Ranh Airport. Besides, training courses in response to special circumstances occurred during the operation have been held.
Therefore, the quality of service has been ensured and highly appreciated by passengers and airlines. Within a year of operation, it won a number of prestigious awards, including 'Asia's Leading New Airport 2019' at the World Travel Awards (WTA) Asia & Oceania and World's Leading New Airport 2019 by the World Travel Awards (WTA).
According to Pham Ngoc Sau, the president of Van Don International Airport Terminal, the airport will work with partners to increase flights during year-end period and introduce new charter flights. In 2020, it plans to double the number of flights, passengers, and the volume of cargo while bringing to tourists the best services.
