On Jan. 4, 2012 in Ha Long City, Mr. Pham Minh Chinh – Member of the Central Party Committee, Provincial Party Committee Secretary chaired a meeting of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on tourism development and urban upgrading of Mong Cai city.
Regarding the project on developing Mong Cai City to be a grade-II urban area, Mr. Pham Minh Chinh has requested Mong Cai City People’s Committee to perform important tasks including: rapidly complete important plans; actively review the projects that have been adopted but slowly or ineffectively implemented; upgrade urban areas; and set up new projects with adequate policies and mechanism to call for investments at Quang Ninh investment promotion conference that will be held in February, 2012.
Draft resolution of the Provincial Standing Party Committee regarding Quang Ninh tourism development during period of 2011-2020, oriented to 2030 states an important direction that it is necessary to create a rapid and clear step in tourism development aiming at promoting all advantages of the Ha Long Bay world heritage and wonder and Yen Tu relic so that tourism would become a key economic sector of Quang Ninh -the major tourism center of the country and an attractive destination in the region.
On this issue, Mr. Pham Minh Chinh requested that the Provincial Party is now the one who issues the Resolution instead of the Provincial Standing Party Committee; at the same time, he required the Provincial People’s Committee to rebuild the draft resolution in a more specific direction in terms of targets, tasks, measures and scale. Also according to Mr. Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, planning on tourism development need to be built to specify guidelines, policies, tasks, scales and solutions of tourism development.
