According to the Quang Ninh Provincial Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the province welcomed 30,000 tourist arrivals during the Calendar New Year (from Jan. 1st-3rd, 2016), up 6% over the same period last year, promising a busy season for the province's tourism industry in the Year of Monkey.
Of which, Ha Long Bay received about 25,800 tourists in 3 days; especially on the 2nd of the New Year. Many entertainment activities were held to serve tourists visiting Ha Long Bay. Also on the occasion of New Year, Quang Ninh welcomed 2 international cruiseships namely Seabourn SoJourn and SuperStar, bringning 1,500 visitors to Ha Long.
