The second meeting of the People’s Procuracies of Vietnam-China border provinces opened on Nov. 28 in Ha Long city.
The event was attended by Zhang Xue Qiao, Deputy Director of Chinese Supreme Procuracy; Quang Ninh’s Chairman Nguyen Van Thang; and Deputy Director of the Supreme Procuracy of Viet Nam Tran Cong Phan, representatives of people’s procuries of Lang Son, Dien Bien, Lai Chau, Ha Giang, Lao cai, Cao Bang and Quang Ninh (Vietnam), as well as representatives of the China’s Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region and Nanning city.
In his opening remarks, Quang Ninh’s Chairman Nguyen Van Thang noted that in recent years, Quang Ninh has gained positive results in the socio-economic development; Economic exchange and international cooperation activities have been continuously expanded and developed.
He highly appreciated the results of the coordination in mutual legal assistance of the Supreme People's Procuracies of the two countries in recent years, contributing to maintaining order and security, creating a stable environment for economic development of both sides.
The Supreme People's Procuracies of the two countries and the People's Procuracy of the provinces sharing the border between the two sides agreed to continue strengthening the coordination in criminal matter assistance, improving the effectiveness of fighting against crime in the border areas of the two countries; at the same time continuing to conduct propaganda activities and raise people’s awareness and better promote their roles in detecting, fighting against crimes in the border areas.
Also at the conference, a MoU was inked by representatives of the Supreme People's Procuracies of the two countries.
