Ha Long welcomes over 246,000 tourists during the 1st week of summer vacation

According to Ha Long city authorities, the city welcomed over 246,000 visitors from May 24 to May 31, including more than 41,500 international tourists.

This marked the first week of summer vacation for students at all levels and coincided with Ha Long city hosting the 2025 VnExpress Marathon. The race gathered more than 10,000 runners, including over 500 international athletes.

Participants had the opportunity to experience one of the most scenic running routes in Vietnam while enjoying sightseeing and leisure in the city by the heritage bay. This major sporting event also helped promote the city's beauty to both domestic and international audiences, contributing to increased tourist arrivals and enhancing Ha Long's image as a city of flowers and festivals.

Quang Ninh province considers sports events a key strategy for attracting visitors. In 2025, the province will host a series of major sporting events expected to draw large crowds, including the VnExpress Marathon 2025, the Yen Tu Climbing Race 2025, the Yen Tu Heritage Marathon 2025, the Aqua Warriors Ha Long 2025 (a duathlon event), and the Aqua Warriors Van Don 2025.

Quang Ninh aims to attract 20 million visitors in 2025, including 4.5 million international tourists.
