British billionaire Joe Lewis visits Ha Long Bay
The British billionaire Joe Lewis on May 16 visited Ha Long Bay on his 150 million-USD super-yacht Aviva.

Lewis is the main investor of Tavistock Group, which owns more than 200 companies in more than 10 countries worldwide. He has a variety of other investments including luxury club resort Albany, restaurants, hotels, and even an agriculture firm in Australia. Lewis is also known as the founder and developer of Lake Nona Center, one of the fastest growing cities in the USA.
At the reception, Quang Ninh’s Vice Chairman Dang Huy Hau briefly introduced to Joe Lewis about Quang Ninh’s potential and strengths, focusing on the Ha Long Bay World Natural Heritage Site as well asthe rapid and stable growth of Quang Ninh in the recent years. Especially, in 2017 and 2018, Quang Ninh was the leading among the provinces and cities in Vietnam with the best quality of economic performance and maintained top position in PCI ranking. It is now one of the most attractive tourism destinations to domestic and foreign tourists.

“Quang Ninh has put high priority on attracting investment in developing synchronous infrastructure system. It has seen dramatical changes since the opening of the key projects, including Van Don International Airport, Ha Long – Hai Phong expressway and Ha Long International Cruise Port, the only specialized international cruise port in Vietnam”, he added.
For his part, Joe Lewis expressed his admiration for the stunning beautiful Ha Long Bay. Appreciating the Ha Long International Cruise Port’s infrastructure system, he said that it is the most beautiful, modern and convenient port among the 6 ports in Vietnam his yacht has docked – “The port is a favorable condition to receive luxury yachts”, said the billionaire.
Also at the reception, Joe Lewis invited Quang Ninh’s Vice Chairman Dang Huy Hau, along with his entourage, to visit his state-of-the-art yacht Aviva which has a full-size indoor tennis court, an office and a larger gymnastics area. The 98-m Aviva, was launched in 2017. It is ranked 57th among the top 100 biggest yachts in the world.
Earlier, the British billionaire had visited Phu Quoc, Ho Chi Minh city, Can Tho and Danang, and will leave Ha Long on May 20 after 5 days excursion and seeking for investment opportunity in Quang Ninh.
