Binh Minh bridge officially open to traffic on January 1
Binh Minh Bridge connecting the two banks of Cua Luc Bay was open to traffic on January 1, 2024. This is the second one of this kind which have been built since the merger of Hoanh Bo district and Ha Long city in 2019.
Prominent among those at the inauguration ceremony were Secretary of the provincial Party’s Committee cum Chairman of the provincial People’s Council Nguyen Xuan Ky, Standing Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party’s Committee Trinh Thi Minh Thanh and Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Cao Tuong Huy.
The brigde is one of the key transport projects of Quang Ninh province in general and Ha Long city in particular. It has a total length of 2,847km with 6 lanes, including paths and bridges, the first point connects the main road of FLC Urban Area in Ha Khanh ward and the end point of intersection with National Road 279 in Thong Nhat commune, Ha Long city.
So as to avoid negative impacts on the mangrove ecosystem of the surrounding area, Quang Ninh province decided to adjust the project design which follows the river’s creek system instead of going through the mangrove forest. The adjustment has contributed to the maintanance of the mangrove ecosystem intact.
Together with Love bridge (Cua Luc 1), Binh Minh is expected to help expand the urban space to attract more investment in industrial parks and urban development projects in Ha Long.
